Risk Off - Daily Buy/Sell Signals Email - 4/26/23
Broad markets were weaker as continued concerns about the financial health of First Republic Bank weighed on the markets. Treasury yields dropped and gold was up.
From time to time, we have written about using our next buy and sell signal data which is posted daily to assist with placing Good-Til-Cancelled orders that will be executed intra-day if the limit price is reached.
Today was one of those days. This morning’s post had a next buy price on Microsoft (MSFT) of $276.43. During trading today, MSFT reached $276.43 and closed at $275.42. The Good-Til-Cancelled limit order at $276.43 would have become a market order and the order to buy MSFT would have been executed at a price close to $276.43.
After the market close today, MSFT beat on EPS and Revenue and is now trading near $300 in after hours, up 8.5% from the close. MSFT is listed as a Buy on tonight’s “Risk-Off” as the $276.43 price was reached. Unfortunately based on where MSFT is trading tonight, the price to execute tomorrow will be close to $300. On a $1,000 order, you would be up about $85, more than the cost of 3 month’s of subscription to Risk-Off on just one trade!
